I represent clients who are usually having their first contact with the Criminal Justice System.  This often a very frightening time for our client, and is important that the client understand from the beginning what the reality of the case is and what the potential penalties the client is going to suffer for the accusation.

However, if our client is clearly innocent, as I have had throughout my career, I encourage the client to proceed through trial to exercise their Constitutional Rights.  The last thing any lawyer would want is a client who ends up being convicted of something that he or she in fact did not do, and that the lawyer could have proven he or she did not do.  This requires clear eyed analysis of the evidence against the client and the reality of a Judge or Jury’s view of this evidence.
